1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly (name, email, phone number), information generated by your use of Photon QR (QR codes created, scan analytics, device type, IP address, approximate location), and technical data (cookies, browser type, referrer URL). We do not collect payment card details — payments are processed by Razorpay and Google Play under their own privacy policies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve the Photon QR service, authenticate your account, send transactional emails (OTP, receipts, plan updates), display scan analytics dashboards, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with applicable law. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
We share data only with: (a) service providers who process it on our behalf (Supabase for database/auth, Upstash for caching, Resend for email, Google AdMob for ads, Razorpay/Google Play for payments); (b) law enforcement when legally required; (c) a successor entity in the event of a merger or acquisition (users will be notified in advance).
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies for session management and authentication. We use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. Google AdMob may set advertising cookies to serve relevant ads to free-tier users. You can opt out of personalised ads via your device settings.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data while your account is active and for up to 90 days after deletion (to allow recovery). Scan analytics data is retained for the duration of your subscription. Server logs are retained for 30 days.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights email privacy@photonqr.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Photon QR is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS in transit, encryption at rest (Supabase), role-based access control, and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password and enable two-factor authentication where available.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
